USCAA Boys Basketball is a winter program for boys in 3rd through 8th grades.  The recreation portion of the program is administered by the USC Recreation Department.  The emphasis of recreation basketball is on fun and development.  Registration is in the Fall.  Practices and games start in November and finish by mid February.  All boys are placed on teams.  Each participant receives a game shirt.
 
The travel portion of the program provides players who have advanced skills and abilities the opportunity to participate in a competitive environment.  Players will be evaluated at tryout sessions and rosters are limited.  Some players may not be placed on a team.  Travel basketball starts in 4th grade and goes through 8th grade.  Two travel teams are selected for each grade.  Travel basketball teams participate in a league and in tournaments.  The travel basketball season starts in
November and runs through March.  To qualify for travel basketball, in addition to other requirements, a player must register and participate fully in recreation basketball.
